Žaborić is a littoral settlement situated by the Adriatic road – Magistrala, 10 km from Šibenik towards south. It is one of the favourite tourist destinations of the Šibenik-Knin region.

Žaborić is known for natural sand and pebble beaches and for the crystal clear sea attracting more and more Croatian and foreign guests. A long walking alley was built up along the beautiful coast of Žaborić, offering the guests the possibility to enjoy unforgettable sunsets and night walks.

Accommodation is available in private apartments, rooms and camps. The olive-yards and vineyards situated near Žaborić represent the proof of the fact that people of Žaborić pay attention to agriculture, as well as to tourism, but fishing is also a very important economical sector of Žaborić.

The well-known party of Žaborić is traditionally organized in July each year.



Zaton is a settlement situated in the bay which bears the same name, at the utmost west end of the Šibenik's Bay into which the river Krka outflows. It is 10 km away from Šibenik.

Zaton existed already in the 15th century. Old burial grounds from the 6th until the 1st century B.C. were discovered near Zaton in the area of Velika Mrdakovica, while the remnants of a settlement of the "gradina" type and of a fortification system were discovered at the very "gradina" Velika Mrdakovica.

The inhabitants are traditionally engaged in sheep-breeding and fishing, and in more recent times in tourism and market. The sea path between Šibenik and Zaton represents a well-known rowing path suitable for international and national competitions in rowing, while many national and international teams come here in winter time for training due to favourable climate.Private accommodation is available.


The Town of Vodice is the biggest tourist centre of the region known for its liveliness and rich and various tourist offer - an ideal place for vacations, where everyone can find something for himself.

Vodice is situated along the shore in a large bay, 12 km north-west from Šibenik, geographically in the centre of the region. The first written document about Vodice dates from 1402.

Today there are about 8 000 inhabitants, this number rises in the summer months. Accommodation is available in private pensions, camps, little family hotels, apartments, rooms, and in the hotels "Punta", "Olympia" and "Imperial". In the centre of the town there is also the nautical port of ACI.


Zablaće is a settlement situated on the coast near the Holiday Resort "Solaris", and about 9 km from Šibenik. Zablaće was known for salt-pans in the Middle Ages, which is evident from the documents mentioning Zablaće and its salt-pans and the trade in salt.

The settlement was burned down completely during Turkish invasions. The inhabitants of Zablaće rebuilt their settlement after the Turks had been expelled. They began to cultivate vineyards, to breed the cattle and to fish.

Some of them became successful seamen, and in recent times they have been engaged in tourism. Zablaće is also known for the medical mud, for which it has been proved to be efficient in curing rheumatism. Accommodation is available in private rooms, apartments and camps.

Zablaće je poznato i po ljekovitom blatu, za koje je medicinski utvrđeno da je djelotvorno u liječenju reume. Smještaj je moguć u privatnim sobama, apartmanima i kampovima.


Tribunj is a typical Dalmatian settlement with narrow streets and densely built houses. The historic core of the settlement was built on an islet and a stone bridge built afterwards connects the islet with the mainland where a new settlement developed.

The oldest written documents date from 1463. Tribunj was called Tribunj at that time. The settlement was fortified by defensive walls during the Venetian rule, and the remnants of the walls are still visible.

Accommodation is offered in private apartments, rooms and pensions of the highest quality, and the nautical port "Danuvius" is located in the centre of the settlement’s harbour.Tribunj is a peaceful oasis for artists, but also a pleasant place for vacations. Among all the events, the traditional fishermen's parties and the donkey race are especially emphasized.
